Building presentation

Its architect was the Lebanon Pierre Fakhoury. He won  a competition between 1984 and 1986. His project was chosen by the first president of the country, Félix Houphouët-Boigny, the 4^th of February 1986. In autumn 1989, the basilica was finished. Construction began the 10^th of August 1985 with the benediction of Jean-Paul Second.
